Eardisland Community Millennium Fund Constitution
1. The name of the organisation shall be Eardisland Community Millennium Fund.
2. It shall be a non-profit making organisation.
3. The aim of the Eardisland Community Millennium Fund shall be to promote community awareness and co-operative activities for the benefit of all residents in the Parish of Eardisland and neighbouring areas as appropriate.
4. There shall be no discrimination against any resident on grounds of age, gender, religion, ethnic origin or disability.
5. The objectives of the Eardisland Community Millennium Fund shall be:
- to support and promote the activities of all properly constituted parish organisations.
- to promote events, both fund-raising and social, for the benefit of the community.
- to help co-ordinate the activities of the parish organisations where appropriate.
6. The objectives shall be achieved;
- by organising concerts, exhibitions, entertainments and events complimentary to those organised by other parish bodies.
- by applying for grant aid from appropriate bodies for the specific parish projects.
- by acting as a catalyst and communication organisation for the community.
7. The governing body shall be the Eardisland Community Millennium Fund Committee. It shall be composed of representatives of a range of parish organisations to be confirmed at the first meeting of each year. Officers of the committee shall be Chairman, Vice Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary, to be elected at the first committee of each year. The committee may co-opt up to four additional members to serve for the current year.
8. The management committee shall meet at least four times in any calendar year. A quorum shall be four committee members including one officer.
9. The minutes of all meetings and the accounts shall be open to public inspection at any reasonable time, from the current chairman.
10. All funds belonging to the Eardisland Community Millennium Fund shall be lodged in a bank account under the name Eardisland Community Millennium Fund. All cheques shall require two signatures.
11. Should the Eardisland Community Millennium Fund be wound up the following procedure will operate, after the discharge of any liabilities.
- The cash balance will be transferred to Eardisland Parish Council for such community use as shall be determined by that council.
- Any other assets will be disposed of as decided by the management committee of Eardisland Community Millennium Fund.
