  • I have posted several notices regarding the allotments I have started in the village and thankfully they have now all been taken up.
I would therefore like to be able to delete the old notices and display just the latest post which shows the plots are all taken at this time. Is this a possibility?
Also I have noticed there does not seem to be anyone else using the forum in the last 2 years.
I am surprised that more people do not make use of the site. I seem to be on the website more than many and I don't even live in the village. Has no-one got anything to say about the village?

  • Hi Nicky

Thanks for using the forums, even if you are only one of a few!
I've deleted your posts about the allotment now they are all taken.
I'm looking forward to spending some time down there with the kids.
    Ben

  • Had a good browse through the contents this morning and think it will be a great asset to the vallage and very useful to young and old alike.
Congratulations to those responsible for kicking this old village into the twenty first century.
  • Steering Group Committee Meeting
  • Posted: 15:24 02-04-2009 By Ben Woodcock
  • We've scheduled a meeting of the original Website Steering Group Committee on Wednesday 22nd April at 7:30 in the Village Hall. If anyone else is interested in commenting on or contributing to the website lease come along. If you can't make it then any comments here can be passed on to the group.
  • Website Survey Results
  • Posted: 12:25 13-03-2009 By Ben Woodcock
  • The results from the recent survey have now been analysed, and some conclusions and recommendations have been published on the website.
We were very pleased with both the positive comments we received and also the amount of visits to the site. The results have raised some questions about how to now progress the website so we would like to reconvene the steering group which first met in 2008. We'll publish dates on the website soon, but if anyone's interested please contact Ben or James.

  • Parish Magazine
  • Posted: 13:01 30-01-2009 By Ben Woodcock
  • We've just published the latest edition (January 2009) or the Eardisland Parish Magazine on the website.
How do people feel about this?
We're not expecting it to take the place of paper copies for those who live in the parish. However we can see it being very useful for those who have moved away but still retain an interest in the village. It should also build up to be a useful archive of back issues.
    Any comments?
  • Images for use on the website
  • Posted: 19:50 13-01-2009 By Ben Woodcock
  • We've had a few comments that there could be more images of the village on the website.
This is a good point, but unfortunately we are currently working with a limited selection of images.
If anyone has images which they would be happy for us to use please submit them via the Photo Galleries section - just make a note in the description that the images are for general use.
We will of course credit any contributions.
  • Parish Council Agendas and Minutes
  • Posted: 09:13 12-01-2009 By Ben Woodcock
  • Thanks to Andrea Armour (Parish Clerk) we have recently published on the website the minutes for Parish Council meetings since June 2007.
In the future, Agendas for Parish Council meetings will be published about a week in advance, and minutes will be published once they have been approved by the PC.
The documents can be accessed from the 'Local Administration' section
We hope parishioners will find this useful.

  • Your heading "Eardisland Parish".

  • First, congratulations on a superb website.

Under your heading "Eardisland Parish" your wording suggests that the A4110 itself is the eastern boundary of the parish.

This is not correct. The Roman Road, which lies a little to the West of the A4110 [see the current Ordnance Survey Map] is the Parish boundary.

Should you wish I will provide "chapter and verse" to substantiate this.If so, please feel free to use my email address as used to Register to this forum...or Serena will give you my phone number.

    Again Congratulations.

    Sincerely,

    George. [Westwayes, Church Lane].

  • We would welcome any comments on the new website.
Is there anything we've missed off?
    Does anything not work properly?

  • Thanks for the comments so far, it's good to know that the website is being looked at and used.

Latest updates to the website include all the Parish Council Minutes from the last 18 months, we hope they will make interesting reading. Also, as from this month, we will publish the agenda for Parish Council meetings approximately one week in advance.
