• Hi there...
  I lived in Eardisland in the 60's...we lived in The Cross Inn for a while...
  I have mostly very happy memories from back then , including what seemed like the annual flooding of the village! Very exciting!
  There was a small room at the rear of The White Swan that used to hold the occasional Disco for us youngsters...I believe Alan (Whiting?) was the landlord at the time.

• hello from New Zealand, I have just been given the address for your site, and thought it may be nice to try and catch up on old school friends from Eardisland School from the middle to late 1950's. when Mrs Powell was the "big room' teacher I left Eardisland in 1959 to go to India with my parents Peggy and Bob Olausen and my brother Bobby. who was at school there also. We then came to NZ. I was looking at old school photos today and thought it would be great to see if anyone was still around :)

  It's good to know that our site is being looked at from as far afield as New Zealand, I hope you've enjoyed it.
  If you wouldn't mind sharing your old school photos I could put them in an album in the Photo Galleries section. Perhaps that would stir up some memories of people that were at school with you.
  Just email me them (address on the contacts page), or submit them using the link on the Photo Galleries page.
  You could also get in touch with Chris Bivand, the editor of the Parish magazine, I'm sure he'd be interested to publish news/memories/photos from a past resident.
