Community Shop Update

EARDISLAND COMMUNITY SHOP

We are delighted to report that our applications to various organisations for funding to support the opening and running of a sustainable venture in our village have proved successful.
Thanks to the generosity and support of many in the village we have sold 104 shares, and had donations and loans. These funds, together with the support from outside organisations, mean we can now proceed.
We are in position to move to the next phase of appointing trades people to carry out the alterations required to the ground floor of the Dovecote and to begin the shop fitting process. We aim to be open before Easter.
Many of you expressed an intent in our initial questionnaire to volunteer to work in the shop. We now need you to confirm your availability so that we can set up briefing and training meetings during February/March.
We welcome anybody from the community who wishes to volunteer to support this venture. It is not necessary to be a member of the Association to volunteer.
To be a member of the Association requires buying a share at a cost of £10. This enables you to have a say in the running of the Association, to elect officers and to have an input into the dispersal of any surplus generated by the shop. There are no dividends. Shares are available from any committee member.
Would all those wishing to volunteer either to work in the shop, or to give their trade/professional services to support the venture, please contact any of the committee members, as detailed below.
We wish to thank all those from the community who have given so generously to date to aid the progress of the venture.
