The Great Hoarfrost on 7th December 2010 was a lifetime experience for many people living in the village. Not since January 1981 has there been such a severe winter. Although there wasn't much snow there was a prolonged cold spell from late November till mid December. The River Arrow froze over, an event that has only happened three times within living memory - 1947, 1981 and 2010. James MacRae recorded this amazing spectacle of nature's splendour.
